What is DataWiki?

DataWiki is an open platform that aims to provide a pragmatic approach to learning Data & Analytics, including important non-technical aspects such as business context, management, and more.

Why DataWiki?

DataWiki is an initiative from AEDI, a data and analytics consultancy. It is born out of the idea to extend product documentation with pragmatic projects and workshops, while keeping to documentation style content which is familiar to the community. We believe in the power of applying principles, standards, and methodologies which are much more sustainable and long-lasting than specific technical knowledge.

What content is available on DataWiki?

At the moment, it exists in this lightweight documentation form and is meant to be a mix between theoretical and practical learning, with a focus on the latter. Specifically, we aim to build and offer:
  • a collection of theoretical content about the history of data, analytics, data types, databases, methodologies, and more
  • a collection of practical real-world projects
  • a collection of workshops designed to be run through in classroom style
  • a methodology to build your own projects and workshops
DataWiki is in constant development and we are always looking for feedback and suggestions.

How is DataWiki content structured?

Every project and workshop includes a GitHub Codespace that can be used to run through the project or workshop which includes data, code, pre-installed applications, and other resources. Clicking on the Codespace badge will open a new Codespace in your browser (the below link goes to your Codespace overview page) Open in GitHub Codespaces After opening the Codespace, you can also use VS Code or Cursor to connect to the Codespace and start working on the workshop.
